Julie Alexander - Hypnotist and Wellness Mentor
In my opinion, a hypnotist is a teacher, guide and coach and I feel privileged to be doing something I feel so passionate about. Over the years I have honed my skills and worked with thousands of clients who have succeeded in overcoming a wide range of difficulties that were negatively affecting their lives. It is so gratifying to watch each client transform and release themselves from the barriers that were holding them back. I love what I do and my goal with each and every client is to facilitate the discovery of inner healing resources, be that by harnessing the power of their subconscious mind or by any of the alternative approaches I offer. It is a true joy to assist another human being in finding the success that they seek and for them to move forwards and live a happier, more fulfilling life.
My Professional Training
I was awarded advanced certification as a Clinical Hypnotherapist and Hypnoanalyst from The Essex Institute, a highly-regarded hypnosis training school based in the United Kingdom. I have since trained extensively in the application of hypnotic techniques in both the UK and US and am registered and certified in the United States by the National Guild of Hypnotists (NGH) and I'm a member of the Association for Professional Hypnosis and Psychotherapy (APHP) and the National Register of Psychotherapists and Counsellors in the UK. In addition to my initial training I hold a wide variety of specialty certifications. I am also an approved Supervisor for the APHP and I am fully insured for public liability and professional indemnity as both a practitioner and trainer.
As I work with clients in both the US and UK, please be aware that the legal terminology in each location is somewhat different. What is referred to as hypnotherapy in the UK, can only be referred to as hypnosis or hypnotism in Texas. This is due to the term 'therapy' being reserved for medical and mental health professionals in some States within the US.
My journey has been an interesting one, allowing me to draw upon numerous life experiences, disciplines and approaches to help my clients deal with and release unwanted issues. Like many practitioners, I didn't start out as a hypnotist. I have a degree in Financial Economics and worked in the investment banking industry prior to retraining and launching my new career in 2003. Deep down I always knew the financial services industry wasn't my calling. As far back as I can recall, I've had a fascination for the human psyche and would willingly help friends and colleagues through personal difficulties. It took me 15 years to take that leap of faith into my new career, but I can now say that it was the best thing that I have ever done!
During my period of retraining I studied a wide variety of subjects including quantum physics, energy healing modalities, psychology, Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP), spirituality, A Course in Miracles, past lives, the after life, dowsing, hypnosis and hypnotherapy. Once I found hypnosis and hypnotherapy, I knew they would form the foundation of my new business and this allowed me to close the chapter on my previous career. From that very moment, I have been part of a wonderful journey which has seen so many transformations in both myself and my clients. I love my new career and assisting people become happier and more successful is deeply rewarding. Although part of me wishes I had found my calling sooner than I did, I also realise that my earlier experiences are all part of the rich tapestry of life that makes me who I am today.
I have invested much, in both time and revenue, training to become the best I can be as a practitioner. As such, I have a very well stocked "toolbox" of advanced techniques. I use what I believe to be the best methods for rapid resolution so that it is possible for my clients to achieve the outcome they seek in the most efficient manner. I understand that noone wants to invest in more sessions than is absolutely necessary, and the general number of sessions for my methods range from 1 to 12. It is very rare for a client to see me for more than 12 sessions. I am accredited with several associations and abide by their code of ethics and good practice.
Hypnosis is more of an art than a science and I am passionate about utilizing its full potential to achieve the very best results for every one of my clients. I have remained an avid reader of hypnosis-related material and continue my education by attending professional courses and workshops as often as possible and regularly exceed the annual continuing professional development requirements of my professional associations.
Since 2003, I have owned and managed a busy professional practice. Initially my consulting rooms were based in London, England, though they have since been relocated to the beautiful area of Crystal Falls in Leander TX, part of the Greater Austin Metropolitan area.
As a business owner, I knew just what I was looking for in my new consulting room in the US. Unfortunately I wasn't able to find an appropriate location, so decided to build a professional, self-contained consulting room as part of my new home. This has turned out to be the perfect solution - a wonderful space in a beautiful, tranquil location where you can't help but be relaxed!
I look forward to welcoming you soon.
